Hello Friends and Welcome Back!

The days have been passing in a snowy stillness as Winter continues here, though the last few have brought with them a biting cold.

During weather like this, I'm happy to spend my time in the sewing room, where I can work away at my projects in the company of a space heater, enjoying the beautiful sights of Winter without enduring the temperatures!

And I'm excited to share the progress I've been making, let's take a look!

Ice Cream Soda

In my last update, I was considering which prints to use for the third round of each of two blocks; one with a pale gold centre, and one in pale grey!

Since then, I've finished assembling those blocks and am quite happy with my fabric choices!

In addition to those two, I've pieced another set of four blocks as well! These new blocks mostly feature a lot of black prints, some of which have small details that don't translate well in pictures, and I think they'll add some interesting intensity to the colour palette of the finished quilt!

Of course, there were three blocks that I misplaced a few months ago, and while working on my other projects, I found those buried at the end of my ironing board!

With those located, I now have 60 completed Ice Cream Soda blocks!

I'm getting so close to having a full set of blocks for this project! I only need a few more full sized ones, then I'll be making some half blocks to square off the edges of the quilt. I'm so excited to see all of my blocks laid out together soon!

Blackwork Roads

It's been a long time since I've made progress on my Blackwork Roads sample quilt, but I'm thrilled to be able to say it's now all in one piece!

I'm so happy with how the quilt turned out and so excited to finally be able to see it as a real quilt in fabric!

However, I'm not quite done with it.

If you look closely, you can see that one of the white points of the central star is actually a different shade of white than the others. I lost the piece I had cut for that point, but found it later with my missing Ice Cream Soda blocks!

I'm planning to cut out the off colour section and replace it with the correct piece now that I've got it!

Indigo Way Mystery Quilt

With this year's Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt along already wrapped up, I'm still working my way through last year's blocks. And though it's still in progress, I'm very excited about what I've accomplished!

I had a lot of fun putting together the half blocks for Indigo Way, and though the original instructions had them made in matching sets, I chose to mix the split triangle and triangle in a square units so all the blocks are unique!

I now have all my A blocks, B blocks, and half B blocks pieced, leaving just four quarter B blocks left to make before all my blocks will be finished!

That's not quite the last part of Indigo Way, I don't believe I've finished piecing all of my border units yet, but I'm drawing very close!

Indigo Way was designed by Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville.

Seeing all of these projects coming so close to completion is absolutely thrilling!

Of course Friends, this is just the completion of the piecing phase and there's still quilting and block assembly left to do, which means more stitching yet to come!

However, there is still something holding me back from quilting my projects; label making. I still don't have my label situation sorted out, but I'm really hoping to remedy that soon!

And I'd love to hear what you're working on as well! Please share your stories and photos with me in the comments below, via email, or by tagging me on Instagram! I love seeing all of your stitching progress and learning about projects of all different mediums as well!

With all that said, I can't wait to see what we'll work on together next!

Until Next Time Friends, Keep Creating!
