Hello Friends and Welcome Back!
Since getting the first samples of my label stencils cut back in February, I've spent some time making a few changes to the text vector files and think I'm finally ready to have the rest of my characters cut!
Vector Changes
After testing the sample stencils, I was really happy with how they turned out, but did have a few small changes that I wanted to try to make.
The first of these was to make the text a little smaller.
I can't significantly reduce the size of the letters since, if they get too small, the stencils would be too delicate to use, but I did shrink them just a little bit.

Here is a little example using the letter A. The purple outline shows the original size of the letter, and the black is the adjusted size. It's not a particularly significant change, but with each letter adjusted a little, the changes should add up over the full surface of the label.
Here's another example using a longer phrase, again with the original size in purple and the adjusted text in black.

With multiple letters strung together, the difference in size becomes more obvious. With a short word like 'by' the change is perhaps only 1/16" but with longer words, like 'Valerie', the altered text is as much as ½" shorter!
Another change I've decided to make is breaking up longer common phrase stencils so that each word is its own stencil.

While testing my original stencil samples, I found it was easier to work with the smaller stencils than the large one, so breaking it down by word should help!
With all those changes made, I'm now ready to send my text vectors back to the Muddaritaville Studio to have them cut into stencils! I can't wait to see how they turn out!
In the meantime, I'll continue stitching away at my ongoing projects and sharing my progress on Instagram between blog posts!
And when my stencils are ready, I'll be excited to give them a test!
